- I crochet blankets for babies, and donate them to women's shelters, daycare centers, churches, and for friends. I have a loving family. I recently lost my brother, who was my best friend. I miss him every day. I retired from Augburg Fortress Bookstore after serving 24 years. When Louis left, I no longer felt I wanted to be there. That's when I started counting down my time to retirement. I knew it was time to go and enjoy the rest of my life. I gave myself a blow-out party, and left on my 65th birthday. I never looked back, but I stayed in touch with my friends. I've been married for 43 years, and I still get butterflies when he looks at me. We really like each other.
